Assembly election 2023 LIVE: Counting to begin at 8 am in Rajasthan, says Chief Electoral Officer

In preparations for the election result day on December 3 in Rajasthan, State Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that counting will begin at 8 am and the postal ballots will be counted first.

Praveen Gupta told ANI, \”Preparations have been made at all counting centres in the state. Counting for the 199 Assembly constituencies will begin at 8 am on December 3. After opening the strong room, postal ballots will be counted first; these are around 5 lakh in number. There are 1121 Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) assigned.\”

Bharatiya Janata Party leader T Raja has said that the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), who contested the election together, will form a government in Telangana.

Raja Singh told ANI, \”I had said earlier too that nobody will get an absolute majority. It will be a hung assembly this time. So, I think that Congress and BRS–which contested the election together and fielded dummy candidates wherever they had to – will form a government together in Telangana.\”

He further alleged that several MLAs from BRS are in contact with the BJP and can even join the party\”.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Friday claimed that his party will win more than 135 out of the 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is banking on a survey (exit poll) conducted by a particular agency to claim it is going to win on December 3 when votes will be counted, but this agency itself is now expressing doubts about the accuracy of the findings, he said in a statement here.

Majority of surveys are predicting a landslide victory for the Congress, said Surjewala, the party\’s general secretary in charge of Madhya Pradesh. “The sun that will rise on December 3 will end the misrule of the BJP that is going on for 18 years and the Congress will win more than 135 seats to fulfill the promises made to the people of the state. This election was between the people and the BJP\’s scams and failures, and I can say with full confidence that the public will win,\” he added.

Speaking on Telangana CM KCR calling a state cabinet meeting on December 4, the day after the counting of votes, BJP leader T Raja said that the CM is dreaming that his government is going to come to power.

\”Perhaps the Chief Minister is still drowsy. He still thinks that it is his government that is going to come to power and he will have a State cabinet meeting on 4th Dec. He is dreaming. He should wake up from his dreams. He is done, his government is not going to come to power in Telangana. Either the BJP or Congress will come to power,\” he added.
